Note to self:
Reading a novel with psycho one night stand will not put you in a good frame of mind for meeting someone who has expressed interest in you. Being stood up may not help your mood, but keep in mind all the antecedents.
Reading a novel with a character who helps abused children find a better home can be emotionally triggery for an adoptee who was abused. That would be you.
Reading a novel where the protagonist Was Not Wanted is likely to make you feel wibbly, and that is going to splash over onto other areas of your life.

Go take care of yourself, and get some more sleep.

phase shifted sleep
I was so tired that I went to bed at 8:30, hoping I'd get something like 10 hours sleep and wake up an hour before my alarm normally goes off. Instead I woke up at 0100, and can neither go back to sleep, nor am I really waking up.

This week's challenge
Time to do a form again. This week, let's try a dodoitsu. It's a four line Japanese poem without rhyme or meter, like a haiku. The syllable count for the lines are 7-7-7-5, and they are usually comical and written about love or work.

Bean and Rice burritos
These would be vegan without the sour cream...
Bean and Rice Burritos
Ingredients
1 cup uncooked rice
1 onion, chopped
4-5 cloves garlic, chopped or minced
1 green pepper, chopped
j1 alapeno pepper, minced
1 can (or approx. 15 oz. dry) black beans, drained and rinsed
1 can (or approx. 15 oz. dry) pinto beans, drained and rinsed
1 small can sliced mushrooms
1 small can sliced olives
Tortillas
Tomato and sour cream, to taste
Directions
Cook rice according to package. While rice is cooking, saute onions and garlic for a few minutes. Add jalapeno and green pepper. Saute for a few more minutes. Add beans, mash with spatula. Add mushrooms and olives. Add in rice and let mixture heat and mix uniformly.
Heat tortillas, garnish with tomato and sour cream
Makes 12ish burritos
Preparation time: 45 min.

![[User Picture]](http://p-userpic.livejournal.com/78375546/911724) [Link] | my kid played a great soccer game today! she was right wing (forward line) for the first three quarters and keeper for the last. she almost scored several times, was running and sprinting like an actual soccer player and even touched the ball a few times while in the goal. she blocked a couple of break-away shots and was able to drop kick three times and did some really impressive throws....
we won 6-2. it was a very one-sided game. the ball rarely came onto our side of the field the whole game!
(i imgaine her new found ability to run had nothing to do with her mother and d watching from the side and everything to do with her boyfriend watching!)

Popsicle sticks
Is it okay for rabbits to actually -eat- popsicle sticks? like, take big bites out of them? Because Sparrow just stole my popsicle stick (after I ate the popsicle) and is now trying to eat it. Should I just give it to her? The popsicle was all natural fruit, so there's nothing really bad in there.
